Private mobile radio and public access mobile radio encompass a wide range of radio services including trunked radio, on-site radio, on-site and wide area paging, mobile data, and large and small scale public access mobile radio. Less in the public spotlight than cellular, mobile radio nevertheless provides an essential service to business and the public safety services. The ability to tailor coverage and facilities to requirements, and its cost effectiveness, make it ideal for many organisations, both small and large.

Today’s challenges include extending IT to mobile workers, migration to digital radio, overloading of frequency bands and, for some, the introduction of spectrum trading and liberalisation.

Quotient’s consultants have a strong background in private and public access mobile, working for vendors, users and regulators.
